I bought one of those HD digital dipsticks. I find my oil temp pretty accurately matches my engine temp reading from my Power Vision, less about 10 deg. I’ve done a few things though: Ultracool fan assist oil cooler. 3guyz oil filter relocation kit. And a Wards fan. With the fans on in the summer I usually stick around 250-260 degrees, again, both motor and a bit less on the oil. Also use Red Line.
Winter, I’m pressed to get the oil above 230, and it takes a while. Problem is the Ultracool isn’t thermostatically valved, so it’s flowing full time. Thinking about putting a cover over it in the winter...

Did you have any fitment issues with the LED dipstick hitting your 2 into 1 pipe?
Thanks
Any ideas of where they were at b4 u did the oil cooler? Also what kinda riding do you do and what's the climate like? My bike is all stock. For the most part when I ride the temp will be moderate since I am in up state NY but, I am kicking around the idea of a cooler.

None, sorry. Didn’t have any way to measure until I got the unit.
I live in NY also so same as yours, unless you’re up in the Adirondacks. Though I wouldn’t call anywhere in NY in July and Aug “moderate” lol. Again, unless up in the mountains.
You don’t need fans if you’re moving, but the cooler you keep your motor, the longer it’s going to last. And I plan on keeping these bikes a while. Plus with them I don’t fear the inevitable traffic jam and having to pull over and shut down to cool off.
