Does high wind hinder engine performance?

So in my mind, yes, wind can hinder engine performance.
Especially going up the hill at Vantage with a 35mph headwind.... and loaded for the weekend... 80 was all she would do... lol

Something to keep in mind is that wind drag goes up as the square of velocity. In other words, double the velocity, you have 4 times the drag. So a head wind, even a cross wind can have a major effect on how your bike feels.

All that said, wind has zero effect on the power the engine produces. It only changes the amount of power required to keep the bike moving at a given speed.....

And this is really what I was wondering about. If the turbulent wind somehow affected the airflow into the engine and effecting performance. Asked and answered!
