I'm kinda curious to know what the differences are, if any, between the 2004 and 2005 model year Dyna Super Glides? I've read that the frames are different with these two years compared to other production years for one.
Hello: I ended up buying the 2004 FXD last month. It has 25700kms on it and for all the riding I do now it should last me a few years. The previous owner wasn't big on cleaning and polishing so it needs a lot of work to clean-up the dirty silver/grey engine paint as well as the silver tank & fender paint and the aluminum(?) primary cover and the other metal covers.
Also, it still has the quiet factory mufflers so these will eventually be changed to the tapered style, which I like the look of, Khrome Werks or S&S...still trying to decide on which one but I don't want to attract attention to myself with 'LOUD' mufflers. Thank you for the replys to my post.
I have a 2004 an my Bud has a 05. 04 Backrest won't work on his, mounting holes different.
I've always wondered what changed that prevents an '06 sissy bar from working on an earlier Dyna... Is it the spacing between the fender strut bolts front to rear, or is it fender width? Or both?
