Default Differences Between Model Years?

I'm kinda curious to know what the differences are, if any, between the 2004 and 2005 model year Dyna Super Glides? I've read that the frames are different with these two years compared to other production years for one.

Curious about this myself .. Pretty Sure 2004-2005 are pretty much the same, but in 2006 came the radical changes ..

The frame changed in 2006...that's about all I can speak to it though.

Yeah they went FI that year but '06 only got the 88ci. I recall it was 96ci across the Dyna line for 2007.

Hello: I ended up buying the 2004 FXD last month. It has 25700kms on it and for all the riding I do now it should last me a few years. The previous owner wasn't big on cleaning and polishing so it needs a lot of work to clean-up the dirty silver/grey engine paint as well as the silver tank & fender paint and the aluminum(?) primary cover and the other metal covers.

Also, it still has the quiet factory mufflers so these will eventually be changed to the tapered style, which I like the look of, Khrome Werks or S&S...still trying to decide on which one but I don't want to attract attention to myself with 'LOUD' mufflers. Thank you for the replys to my post.

I've always wondered what changed that prevents an '06 sissy bar from working on an earlier Dyna... Is it the spacing between the fender strut bolts front to rear, or is it fender width? Or both?

Different location in mounting holes from 04-05. Everything he wants to order for his bike is specific for that year.

Same frame part number used on all '04-'05 Super Glides. EFI, Carb, Sport, Custom: 47456-04BHP

Prior to '04, the seat mounting was considerably different. After '05, was the obvious '06 change. Not sure about anything else.
