Default Clutch cable failure

What's going on fellow Harley fanatics? My name is Buddy and I recently purchased a 2013 Street Bob from an airmen heading back to the states. It has 14"bars, aftermarket groups air filter, Vance and Hines short shots, and a fuelpak.

Heading to a restaurant with my wife, pull in to the parking lot pull the clutch and the bike still wanted to pull forward. It seemed like the clutch didn't fully engage. After some grub jumped back On the highway tried to get from 3rd to 4th gear and the clutch just collapsed and would not retract. I have a warranty but I have aftermarket 14" minis so I would like to try to solve this at home bc it won't be covered. I pulled the pin from the lever to release the handle and I tried to pull the cable to see if it was broke, but the cable feels in tact. Any ideas? The adjuster was still tight, should I loosen it and try tightening the cable? Should I drain the trans fluid(small hex on the bottom of transmission)and check the clutch in the housing? I appreciate any advice you guys could throw my way!

Nope it's aftermarket, I just recently bought the bike but guess the factory wouldn't fit

All I can tell ya is if its a Burley cable I have heard they were having a lot of issues with them. Good luck hopefully someone will come along and give you some better answers.

Two possibilities, either the cable has let loose of the mechanism in the right side of the transmission / clutch housing, or the adjuster in the left side / primary has come loose and backed off.

It's much easier to open up the primary to see what's happening in there. Put a piece of wood under the kickstand to get the bike more level otherwise fluid will drip out when you pull the derby cover. Take the derby cover off and check to see if the nut and bold in the middle of the clutch is loose. (This might stir up a debate about replacing the gasket, but I'm going to say it'll be just fine unless you damage it somehow.)

If it is, back off the locking nut, tighten hand tight test your clutch pull and then tighten the locking nut back down. You'll need to hold the adjusting bold in the middle while tightening the locking nut.

If that all looks OK, you may need to pull the clutch lever housing on the right side of the transmission, a bit harder but not terrible. Rather than try to give instruction here, get a service manual or get someone to help.

I really appreciate the time and advice! The nut and bolt were loose In the primary, I watched a J&P video on clutch adjustments for 06 and up dyna's. NP, not here for points. I've received my share of help ... and shame when it's due. But, thanks for the thought anyway.
