So....just installed a new Rifle fairing, about to take it for a test ride and I have a red light on my speedo that won't go out.
Checked for codes and what I got was :
b2113 - ACC output shorted low
b2206 -Run/stop switch input open/shorted high
No idea how to handle either of the "issues"? Bike starts and runs fine...took it for a short test ride anyways. I didn't screw with anything other than bolting the fairing on? Any ideas? I tried clearing them but they keep coming back.
did you create a loose connection at the brake lever? accidently pull some wires too much?
I don't think so. I'm getting ready to pull that control assembly off and have a look. I changed handlebars back a few months ago. Maybe there's something making contact in there?
So am I safe to assume that the problem is somewhere on the right side of the bike where the stop/run switch is? And this may be a stupid question, but since it rode fine earlier, is it safe to ride?...
Well I guess there might be chance the Run/Stop connection could mess you up. I would bet your handlebar swap is what caused the issue and that the fairining install just "tweaked" the wiring enough to make the codes appear.
I have had to chase down a similar problem before with my speedo. I looked at all the connections and they looked OK but the code keep coming back. So I decided to disconnect all the connections underneath the speedo and then reconnect. Even though I never saw anything wrong, this disconnect/reconnect of all the wiring fixed the problem.
Hope this helps some, just keep looking and trying to reconnect everything connected to the Run/Stop area.
Well...solved it, lol. After unplugging from the wiring harness and pulling the right side back out and into my handlebars again I realized where I had screwed up. The day before yesterday I had removed a saddlebag to fix the mount, and sure enough when I reinstalled the bag, I pinched the tag light wire that runs on the inside of the fender...wasted almost 3 hrs, but the damn red light is gone, lol. Idk what the run stop error code was about, but its gone now. Thanks for the help!
