Default RE: Dyna Shock Lengths

I am in the market for the chrome covered shocks for my '03 WG, but all I can find is the 11" and 13.5". Eye to eye I am at 12.5" OEM and the ride height is great as is, but I am going for the look. I am concerned if I go 11" I will bottom out with just me, but for sure with the wife. I wouldn't mind the 13.5" but I am afraid it will look odd. SO my question is this: If I would use the 13.5" do you think you could really notice the almost 1" in height gain? I am thinking not so much, but I want to hear others opinions.

Sorry for topping such an old thread, but I didn't want to start another one for this simple of a question.

ORIGINAL: traveler

Keep in mind my bike is a 2005....

Eye to Eye length stock Superglide shock 12.6 inches

Eye to eye length Lowrider shocks 11.6 inches

I'm using 11 inch Progressive 412 Heavy Duty's. solo riding I have 7/8 inch fender to tire clearance when sitting on the bike, and I'm 220 lbs.

These figures are again for 2005's.

The Progressives are normally $250+, but you can get them through Jirehcycles.com for around $190 with free shipping!!

joe
That's different than mine. I have an 05' FXDLI and the eye to eye length was 12". I replaced them with the 12" 412 Progressives (the length they recommended for the LowRider. I bought them from Eastern Performance (a forum sponsor) for $179.95 f/shipping--received them in 3 days after order, brand new in sealed mfg. box. The new shocks did not change the stock bike height at all.

Doc...I pretty sure the 12" Prog's will give you stock height. You need the 4037's to drop 1" on a FXDL.

I replaced mine with Hagon Nitro shocks; the stock units measured 11.5" between centres.

My 07 street bob shockswere 11 7/8 from eye to eye. Which is the same length as the H-D lowering shocks. The 07 Low Rider shocks I measured were 12inlong. I went with 11 1/2's on my bike and it looks good and i can still ride 2-upjust fine.
