So a cutout wouldn't have been a good thing in that situation? It easily could have NOT just folded up....but leveraged you up instead
I simply asked a question about if the bike had one to make sure some thing wasn't broken on my brand new 20K bike....pointed out that my previous rides have had that feature....responded in kind to people that think they are clever....and asked the question when someone described the EXACT situation that feature is designed to prevent.
Never did I gush on about how it is the most important safety feature ever.
because at some point you have to take responsibility for your actions and decide that if you can't remember to put your kickstand up before riding, you have no business being on a bike.
My son's 86 Yamaha has multiple interlocks, including one on the side stand. It was a bitch digging thru 30 year old wiring and schematics trying to diagnose the no-start. So many circuits interacting and terminating into black boxes. Kinda glad my Harley isn't quite so complicated. Easier to fix when it breaks.
