Default Switchback with Touring Engine Guard

I was wondering if anybody has put a crash bar/engine guard on their switchback from a touring model? How hard was it? What had to be modified?

I'm in the process of getting one off of my buddies street glide and didn't know if it would work. I am looking at adding it so I can add lower fairings with speakers on it. Thanks!

It's definitely not going to be a bolt-on operation. At the very least you'll have to fabricate some type of lower frame tabs that are wide enough to mount it to.

as oldenuf said it WILL need modification due to differences in frame and may look out of place on the dyna frame..

I would go with the OEM guard for the switchback and just do a little trimming on the lowers to make them fit right..
many members of the switchback owners site have done this mod including myself with no problems

How much modification does it take on the lowers to make them work?

on the older non vented lowers I had to trim about 1/2" off of each side
and cut pie shaped notch at bottom engine guard mount.

on the vented style from what I understand on here and over on the switchback owners site no trimming necessary and only the notch for the lower mount is required

Is here any way you can refer me to the site you are speaking of? If it is that easy to throw lowers on. Then I'm all about that!
