Fixin' to order a reckless fairing. Couple questions for those that have them. 1) what hardware do I need to mount it on my bike? 2) can tunes be heard at highway speed without an amp?
Have you ever been in a high end stereo store where you listened to something in their sound room. Think how quiet the room is and how well it is set up acoustically.
I have a reckless with 4 5 1/4" polk audio two way speakers on my RK and lowers with 6 1/2" two way Polk audio speakers. I just put an amp in for the two lower speakers.
If you are an audiophile you can't beat headphones or helmet speakers to negate the wind noise.
With a fairing radio You will hear very little of the music at highway speeds. But cruising through town or the neighborhood it works fine.
They should have a kit with most of what you need to fasten it to your quick release windshield mount.

Reason: that would be sound room not should room.
Thanks. I've never ridden with a fairing so I really have no clue as to how loud or quiet the ride is. I figured the amp would be more or less necessary for highway tunes.
I don't run the Reckless fairing, have an ebay one. I run an aftermarket Kenwood digital player (lighter because it doesn't play CD's) and run 4 Hog Tunes 5.25" without an amp. I can listen to tunes at speed, its not car like acoustics, but its there incase I want to listen wile on a road trip (on my Sturgis trip, a guy I road out with said he was listening to my tunes because his radio stopped working, didn't always recognize the music though). Listen to a lot of talk radio, always wonder what people are thinking when it's not music, but some politics rant.

amp won't make much difference for two or four speakers. The deck alone will max out the speaker volume limit. Youll need an amp if youre installing a sub.
