ok guys i have been doing 3 days worth of research and cannot find a straight answer here... i pulled the trigger on a bare reckless fairing and cannot make up my mind if i want the 4 5.25,,, the 2 6.5s or the 2 6x9s.. i like a little bass and dont wanna sacrifice how shitty it will sound at 70...
im really looking for a personal experience not what you heard please..thanks all..
I have a Reckless with 6 X 9's and they rock!!!!! I get compliments and questions about the system all the time.
Using Polk MM691 speakers driven by a Sony MS-60 and Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2. I set the highpass on the amp to around 80 hz and the bass still thumps hard.
Before I added the amp I had Polk db series speakers, and with only the Sony MS-60 driving them they sounded really good. Could hear them good at 75-80 mph. The amp really, really made them hit hard, and loud.
Just my opinion but if you want bass and loudness go with the 6 X 9's.
