Has anyone completed this with the 39mm brackets? Mine didn't come with instructions but I did see instructions for the 49mm version out there. Seems a big difference between the 2; 49mm needs the headlight relocated slightly and bracket look a lot different. Don't think I can rely on those instructions.
Basically my question is, is there anything special I need to know about the 39mm version or should I just start pulling things apart and give it a shot?
The HD fairing with the Bung King Brackets and HD quick releases are a 20 minute install for the 39mm forks. It all assembles loosely, and then you tighten it up while holding it in alignment with the headlight. The brackets came with all the bolts I needed.

I'll preface this by saying that I don't have a 39mm fork on my street bob, but I can't see it being vastly different from a 49 mm front end. I've attached the instructions that came with the HD fairing in case you don't have them already.
The bung king kit just replaces the side plates (part number 6 on the exploded parts view) and eliminates the need for the HD hardware used for attaching to the fork. You shouldn't need the shoulder bolts or Belleville washers for the quick disconnect clamps, just use the bolts/washers that came with the bung King kit (use loc-tite). You will use the bolts/washers/nuts that came with the fairing (parts 18,20,21) to attach the new side plates per the HD instructions. Any questions, feel free to ask. It took me about 30 minutes to get mine mounted up and I was taking my time.
I would also recommend getting a replacement headlight cover from cee baileys. It will fit way better than the one Harley supplies.
