Hi All, Quick introduction as I'm new to the forum- I've been riding a few years now and had just recently purchased my first Harley. '12 Super Glide Custom. I've been roaming around the forums for a bit and this seems like a great community.
My question is: Are there any Harley Davidson bags that attach to your sissy bar without the use of a luggage rack?
I have a sissybar backpack. It's not HD, but it was fairly cheap and has worked fine so far. Just have to be careful that it doesn't sit on the fender or it will make a rub mark in the paint. When I'm going to use it I swap out my solo seat for the 2-up and make sure it's resting on the passenger side of the bar.
With a Superglide Custom you probably have a two-up seat. There are many bags that attach to the sissy bar and sit on the passenger seat withou a need for a luggage rack. Check out leatherup.com as a starting point.
My signature photo shows an example of what I am describing.
If you have a passenger seat check out The Hooker. It does under your seat and gives it a point to tie down to. I've used a micro fiber cloth, or the shelving liner (rubber mesh) to protect a naked fender. That's also why I installed a fender bib awhile back, but that doesn't cover a ton of fender either.
As said earlier Leatherup.com has some decent stuff that's affordable. If you want really inexpensive Wal-Mart actually had a back pack that straps to a sissy bar that works just fine. On the higher end there is a ton of stuff. Check the likes of J&P, etc for those.
If you have your heart set on stuff from HD they have got it. Comes with the Harley tax of course though!
