Fatboy rim on a 2012 fatbob

Hey everyone,

After a few years of owning my bike, finally doing a little work to her. Interested in fitting a fat boy rim to my 12 fxdf. Have seen a few puts but can't figure out if it's more or less a straight bolt off/bolt on. Has anyone done this & any advice? Idea of costs would be good too.

You may need different spacers but the hub itself is the same.

The offset on a softail wheel (upfront) won't allow your caliper to line up with your rotor. You can get a ¼" rotor spacer on eBay, and you would have to use the correct axle spacers. I actually have a ¼" rotor spacer in my pile as I once ran a fat bob front on my street bob with a softail deluxe/heritage front wheel. I've since adapted an FL softail front to my bike and the softail wheel with correct axle and spacers work with my caliper. I have a softail rotor on my wheel but heard the dyna rotor will work. The thing is Fat Boy rims are single disc and your Fat Bob came with dual front discs. I don't think the Fat Boy wheel will accept dual disc.

The rear can even be more complicated. The hubs on a softail wheel are not the same. With spoke rims you can lace a dyna hub to the wheel-I did to my rear wheel so dyna spacers, axle, rotor and pulley can be used.
