Only thing W/Sears lift when modded is drains aren't accessible:-( Other than that do the mod & cut the front X bar re-weld it back a bit to clear jiffy stand! Table mount would nice addition except takes up more room in garage. Guess if I sold 4x4 I would have not storage issue, but can't plow snow W FXDC & snowthrower isn't as much fun( comes in handy when it get's too deep)

That's true with the lift adapters as well, although it's easy to get around if you don't really need to lift the bike off the ground. When I drain primary or gearbox oil I just slide the lift forward so that the rear pad is under the front of the engine. It's perfectly stable in an upright position, but I don't usually lift it high enough to take the front wheel off the ground.
This is my 'cheapo' doesn't appear any way I can adapt like yours...b.
That lift you've pictured can be easily modified using the SC Longhair mod I posted on the previous page. Check out the link and the two videos, you'll see
Yep your right ! Did the job in 10 mins., one problem though' I measure the distance after modding mine at 16 inches. The video lift comes in at 19 inches, can't try it as I have to get bolts tomorrow. Hope it will still fit o.k...b.

I have the same lift as you. I did the mod and found it to unstable because of the pads being considerably wider than the wheels/support. And it was useless if I only wanted to lift one end of the bike because it would tilt.
I own a lot of tools and equipment, and it is sometimes rare to have a tool that you can say "I love that thing!", and actually I probably have more that I regret buying, than tools that I love.
The J&S lift is one such tool that I cannot recommend enough. It's a cool tool
Well I finished the lift 'mod' today, lifted the bike...very unsteady, lowered the lift, bike fell over and broke the clutch lever and perch ! Forgot that the kickstand would spring up when bike lifted ! So that's costing me $30 on e-bay for a replacement. Should have gone with the Harley blocks in the first place !...b.
