Default Bike lift for Dyna ?

I have one of those lifts with the two 'arms' that slide under the bike and then pump up. How have you guys 'modified' the same lift to fit under the Dyna ? I haven't got the know how to figure it out myself so all help gratefully accepted...b.

Assuming craftsman (or similar lift)

Remove the mounting arms (rubber padded arm that the bike actually rests on)
Cut the bar between the two arms
Install these arms exterior of the bars they were mounted on (bars actually raising / lowering the arms)

Use 1" spacers (between the bars and arms)..., fender washers (4 per bolt)..., 1" bolts (4 total) ~ 7 or 8" long (can't remember which - so measure before buying)..., & locking nuts

Works like a charm

I just ripped some red oak on the table saw to shim the shifter side to match the lowered strip under the tranny. This way I can adjust the angle of the jack to my needs too.

Follow the SC Longhair mod HERE

Or; bite the bullet and buy a J&S. Some of the smartest money I've ever spent on my Dyna's was a J&S. No mods, no lift adapters. Flippin' thing is rock solid no matter what work I'm doing to the bike, if the bike isn't being ridden she sits on the J&S lift

A table lift is nice, but you can't do any tire, wheel, bearings, front or rear fork, or suspension work; I'll stick with the J&S lift for just a few bux more; nothing I can't do with that J&S lift, no tie down straps needed

It seems clear that the J&S lift is the best choice, and I'm sure that I'll end up with one at some point. If you already have something like the Craftsman lift as I do, I have had no issues using the HD lift adapter blocks. Of course you could make something similar out of wood, but these are around $25 at the dealer and are really simple to use. And they stay put nicely on your frame rails while positioning the lift (or while riding, if you forget to remove them as I have several times).

The lift I have is from Canadian Tire and is not the same as the Craftsman unfortunately so I can't 'mod.' it. Would love to have the J&S lift but a bit pricey for me. As was commented on the 'Table lift' would not allow wheels & tire removal, so i'll probably go with the H.D. blocks which I hadn't known about till now. Thanks guys for the help...b.

As long as the arms slide under the bike in similar locations as the Craftsman lift, I don't see why the adapters wouldn't work.

I like my J&S too. Just sold my Handy lift since I'm moving overseas and can't take my compressor.
