Hey all.
Got a PM reminding me that I've been away a while. Sorry about that. Been in the hospital.
I took a spill on the DWG at lunch on July 15 and just got out of the hospital a couple days ago.
Hit some grit or dust on a country road and laid down the bike. Rode it all the way down and slid directly into a pair of architectural boulders and a 4x4 mailbox post. Sheered that off at the ground.
Broke both humerus shoulders near the upper ball end (and also dislocated both joints)
Compound break, RH 3rd metacarpal
Shoulders and hand repaired with multiple plates/rods/screws.
Broken left elbow (minor, non-operable )
Three broken ribs.
Detached RH bicep
Perforated colon/large intestine
Still got a LONG way to go with pysical therapy but they say I should be able to ride again if I'm diligent with my rehab.

Nice scars! I had one that like on my belly some years ago - complete with the little "*****" (as some of my friends called it) at the bottom end.
Glad you are/will be OK.

Chris, please keep us updated to your progress and the rehab. Once the time comes start letting all of us know what you need to put your bike back on the road; this is a forum that has shown it pays everything forward.

Oh, yeah, I was geared up. All speculation, but the EMT examining my jacket and helmet said they likely saved my skull and even more severe shoulder damage. Jacket was armoured HD FXRG Textile. Steel toe 11" Red Wing engineer, Perforated leather gloves, Bilt kevlar jeans, & Shoei QWEST helmet.
Only the helmet shows any damage, which doesn't photograph well. The white spots are gouges that go almost all the way thru the outer.
