Those are some hard core scars your gonna have but no biggie compared to the alternative. Glad your going to be ok. Do what the doctors tell you, do all the therapy and you'll heal up faster than you realize. I have a Shoei Quest also, looks like it held pretty good, thanks for testing it out for me...

This is definitely one of those "that's gonna leave a mark" moment! Looks like you got roughed up pretty good but looks like you're on the mend well too, congrats on still being around

Just a few hours ago I passed an accident of a bike gone down, guy didn't have a helmet on. Some people were already helping the guy, blood all over his noggin.

So, anyway, that bike must be totaled, 2017's are coming out soon ya know

Cheers to your speedy recovery

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. If not for the massive immovable objects in my way, I would have very likely rode away with just some grass stains. Instead, I got a **** load of blunt force trauma. Thankfully, I was close to a very good regional trauma center where they took very good care of me. I never lost consciousness (good EMTs) until they put me under...and then I didn't wake up for almost 24 hrs. Then I went 13 days with NO food. Just ice chips. Even that was constantly pumped out thru a tube. That first popsicle was nearly orgasmic.

Finally got eyes on the bike today and it looks a hell of a lot better than I do. The pipes are crushed flat and the intake was ripped off. Forks and front wheel are bent. I remember hearing the primary touch down but couldn't see that in the wrecking yard. I'm hopeful that I don't have any other case or head damage, but the pipes are FUBAR, so I'm not liking the prognosis for the trans covers or flange studs. Probably got into the frame a little down near the jiffy stand, too. Rear wheel up thru the seat and electronics area all looks good. We'll see. Certainly nothing I can't fix!

Just gotta focus on my health the next couple months and distract from the pain with new part research.

That's the plan. The nurses and therapists keep telling me to back down a bit so I don't re-break anything. Still got at least 2 weeks of non-weight-bearing limits on my arms. ...but I'm carrying in groceries and stuff anyway. I just try to listen to my body. Push it just to my pain limit and back off.

The QWEST is outstanding. I'll be getting another without doubt.

At least you were planning on replacing the forks/front end anyway... Always got to think positive.
