Fuelpak vs FP3
The FP3 seems to get good reviews (including from Fuelpak-FP3 change-ups) at Revzilla, at least in terms of the phone-based interface and 'semi-canned'/'sorta-auto-tuning' functions it should be significantly better than the Fuelpak.
Just make sure you get the correct one (they only recently started making them for 2007-11 Dynas, but have been making them for the 2011- 17 models for a while, so the latter are more common...)

Don't think about swapping to other bikes or returning the FP3.
Stated in the catalog is the warning of no returns.
Buy it and you better like it.
Yep it backfired like it had a tank full of bean burritos on deceleration,
but I went into the FP3 and adjusted the "decel pop" setting and it got rid of
about 98% of the popping, very satisfied.
The "Throttle Progressivity" tweek gives another little grin factor.
This reduces the factory set lag in throttle response for the throttle by wire.
I am currently at 3/4 setting and after work today going to 1:1 "race mode".
I've been messing with the FP3 settings in minor steps and for a geek that just can't leave **** alone, this thing is like a KatNip ball for a Kat.
Yes it is locked to your VIN, Original Map is backed up before you burn a new one to it.
I've read somewhere....on here someone....claimed that you can pay V&H for an additional license so you can use it on another bike. I haven't checked into that yet but intend to.
I also read that one of the other brands of mapping gadgets lets you use it on other bikes BUT, you first have to revert the current bike back to the factory map, effectively releasing the license from that bike. Multiple bikes, but only one at a time.
If you could buy one unit that was unlimited, they wouldn't make much money on it.
