seems like no one in the touring section is into performance and could give a rat a$$ about any serious motor upgrades.
Not everyone. I offer inverted forks in two different types. Steering stem in front of fork tubes with 26 degree steering stem rake & 3.5 degrees which will yield 6.8" of trail. Changing trail is a combination of the distance between the steering stem and fork line. It can be adjusted by moving the steering stem in relation with the neck.
This is a 26 degree neck with steering stem behind the forks. Adjusting the distance from the steering stem to the forks adjust the trail. These are 4" of trail with no steering stem rake. Still under construction but still have the worked over crate 124" S&S which I am debating on an Airocharger because a naturally aspirated 124 CI will just not put out enough power unless you wish to be in a parade.
It has a 6 speed Spike and my C/F wheels w/radial 9#+ tires (each) ready to go on. I have composite fenders because steel is just too heavy. I will make an aluminum swing arm just like my FXR has which weighs in at 13.5 pounds. The 7 gal fuel tank weighs a lot but not near as much as pushing the bike. I use 30mm Ohlins cartridges in all of my bikes except the hard tail. Again, once the parts are on the bike than it is all BS. Finding the time to build the bike is also another thing.
I make my own axle clamps for my Ohlins forks so they need no rotor adapters and the inverted forks now come with 30mm Ohlins cartridges. I also like the fact or radial calipers to stop quickly just in case. Again it is all BS until it is completed and excuses why things do not come out the way you or I stated is also BS. I am hoping for at least 120 HP with the huffer. I watch all of these absurd Dyno claims than put the very same bike on another Dyno where the owner has no interest in stroking your ego and the HP results may be different. I have not completed what I want to do on this build but this is my progress.
Above is developing the triple trees so the RK Nacelle will fit. PS: I will not have a radio because it weighs too much.

Well, I did it......just got back from taking a '17 SGS for a test ride
I was impressed, smoothest HD I've ever ridden, smooth Excellent handling, more and smoother power than my '08 UC, felt no where near as bulky too. It's like a Cadillac but surprisingly sporty.
Very manuerverable (however you spell that), loved it, I want one
But I'm not getting rid of Jack the Ripper for one. But, I'm gonna look around and see if I got a spare kidney laying around to hock
It was Superior Blue, a Special, it wants me too!
Suede
I knew once you rode one it would want you too!
It's funny Suede, I found the M8 motor too Honda-like. No Harley feel. But that's just me. Definitly smoother and more pep, but no soul. Felt like an inline 4. That's why I went for the '16 leftover.
But hell, if you like it, go for it. To hell with all these judgmental f'ers. (Jk of course)
I will find out, tomorrow!
Yeah, I guess I could always snag a leftover, and stuff a monster TC into it.

For sure, got me thinking now, wondering how many kidneys my wife has
