if I want to raise the tank I will stretch the frame.
I see it as a mod for the fabricationally challenged [sm=escape.gif]
funny thing is, i look at your bike and all i see is harley bolt on mods. why bash on people that dont buy harley bolt-on accessories like you do, alot of people like to be diffrent from the harley bolt-on mods. iam not saying this mod is for everyone, everyone is allowed thier own opinion. but dont call no one challenged, when you probly have the dealer install all your parts and accessories. my .02 cents. jackyl
Bit touchy aren't we, sorry it I just don't like the lift I makes the bike look hunchback
The only thing that was not on my bike when I bought it was the bars and bags.
I had to modify the bags because they were from an 2004.
The bars I did my self , I also did the internal wiring , shaved the stock seat and recovered it , made and installed multipul pieces of leather items including the fork bag, changed the rear tire myself used a buddys tire changer.
I play with 4x4 rock crawlers also and do all my own fab work, engine rebuilds, trasmissions and so on.
like i sad, everyone has there own opinion on everything in life. but to seat there and call people challenged is just plan dumb IMHO. my question to you is though, why would you slice and dice your frame to achieve the samepurpose you can get from a lift? sounds like to me, alot of work for the same purpose that can be achived in 15minutes from a lift. then if you change your mind or decide to take it off, you dont have to modify the bike again, just take the lift off.
Ok, enough is enough. I don't mind negative opinions about mods to my bike. Hell, outside views from folks who don't ride my scoot are what help me get better ideas about how to go about making mods, even if there just "bolt on".
I don't think brainiac here was knocking your particular product Jackyl. Seems more like he was trolling for an arguement about how so many here are "fabricationally challenged" or RUBS orany other way to insult others tomakehim feel likehe has a pair.
Let's not hijack a nice thread to allow someone to compensate for obvious shortcomings in other areas.

I wasn't knockin the product, but a comment was made by the popcorn muncher how bikes without one looks squashed and flat. So I replied that I don't like the looks of the tank lift, and yes the "fabricationally challenged" comment was a poke and was not supposed to be taken so F'n serious.
But, the panties started bunchin and a direct dissin of my bike was launched. Did I reply with an attack about his bike, nope.
This comment "makehim feel likehe has a pair" is the typical response of someone who is "Smack Talk" challenged.

To be quite honest, I wasn't takin it all that serious, hence the little wink at the end of my comment.
You were bustin' chops and I can apreciate that, even if I'm "smack talk challenged".
