i installed a K&N Air filter kit (similiat to the SE Stage I) V&H BSS and a PCIII and my bike is running super hot. In just a minute of idling she gets ridiculously hot. I was running the map that fuelmoto preprogrammed based on these specs and then I tried the one from the powercommander website but no difference. It's to the point that I think the heat shields on my new V&H are starting to warp. Went to a stealer today and they just gave me a "you should have let us install it speech". Mind you, they have no Dyno and would have loaded the same maps. Any advice?

How hot is super hot ?........whats your oil temp?..........Them new motors put out a lot of heat....
How's your idle after the air filter install? Any surges? I'm wondering if you're sucking air and running lean as a result. Has Fuel Moto offered any advice? I'm told they are pretty sharp.

idle is fine, no surges. fuelmoto has been closed since i did the install.
You've gotta be runnning way lean for it to get as hot as your stating. I would definitely get a richer map into that PCIII asap before you burn a valve.
upped the map in the pcIII by 15% across the board, still seems a bit hot. should i go higher? (btw, i figured out a need trick, the map in the pcIII software is like a spreadsheet. you can copy and paste it into excel, make your mods and then copy it back). also, i;ve got about 200 miles on my BSS and they seem to have quieted down a bit, anyone else had this happen?
Keep in mind the 96's run hotter period, but most of that is due to the lean condition out of the factory. Try bumping her up another 5 to 10% richer and go from there. More fuel will not kill the motor like too little fuel will. Worst case scenario, you bog it down by dumping to much fuel in.
