I found vance and hines big shot staggards in chrome at parts giant for 535 free shipping. Anyone know of any better deals on pipes this week? Figure i better get these since they are by far the cheapest i have seen so far on my own.
Did you decide to go with the Big Shots Hollandhunter? I'm going back and forth with them, Supermegs or perhaps Basanni. I really don't want a loud 2-1 and with the minimal effects and added cost to so called quiet baffles, I'm leaning towards the Megs but it wont be till February so I've got time to go back and forth.

Yes i have searched till i cant no more. An i think the big shots are the best option for me. I like loud chrome 2into 2 long chrome pipes. Lots of nice exhaust out there to choose from. Take your time and get what you want the first time. Right.
Tucci, if it helps at all I found my supermeg for about $645 with free shipping after looking for a while. The pipe gets better with age as well. I really love the sound but can still enjoy the world around me
I was put off by the overpriced brand-name pipes and did a lot of research on this as well a couple of years back. There are so many choices and with their over-the-top prices, you only get one try to get it right...unless you have deep pockets.
I discovered that V&H Staggered Big Shots are really not true 2-in-2 because they have a what they call a power chamber that connects the two downstream. They are very similar in quality, appearance and sound to the old no longer available Screaming Eagle Pro II pipes that go for about half the price when you can find them. I cannot compare the performance difference, if any, because I have not tried the Big Shots.
I wanted 2-in-2 pipes and tried some Samson Wildcats but was really disappointed with the performance. I also discovered that it was a beach to tune my carb with the 2-in-2 pipes. I decided to get rid of the Samsons and hence all the research where I stumbled onto the older SE Pro II. They look like Big Shots (or the Big Shots look like the Pro II )
My buddy has the se2s on the do sound good. Dont know about preformance cause we have never dynoed his bike but it is slow by any means off the line i do know that.
When it vomes to me i could care less if i gain power by adding pipes. I just wanna keep the power of what i got stock (plenty for me) and get that harley sound with the 2into2 looks. I just think the 2into1 pipes are butt ugly. An here on the south east US they are far and in between. People just like there 2into2 pipes around here. My bike stock is plenty fast enough for me. If i wanted faster i would buy a crotch rocket. I like fast just not so much on my harleys. I want my bike to ride good and look and sound decent. That is it. Wont be racing anyone on a harley anytime soon. Ha

I totally agree with you. In my youth, I rode Sport Bikes but now I ride for a diff reason and your right, the 103 has plenty of power for me too.
I have to say the pipes you got on your profile pic look sweet. Love the color of your bob.
Thanks hollandhunter, their ok for slip-ons, a bit raspy but they really dont have much in the way of a baffle. I prefer black and a pipe that doesn't travel so far back, it kinda of ruins the aesthetics for me. The pipes need to follow the lines of the bike and a smaller bike like the SB looks out of balance when the pipes go too far back....to me. I like the top pipe to stop at the rear spindle nut, no further. The short shots are too short and I'd loss too much low end torque. The big shots stop right where I want them to and I can put a quiet baffle in to soften the rasp some. I decided to put a PCV in it after its all put together, I really liked the PCV I had in my Road King and am very comfortable with what it can do for me. I don't want to spend more than the $299 I can get it for on Amazon. The maps are free and just like before, I can find a map that gives me what I need.
