Default 2016 Street Bob LIGHTING

So, I just purchased a new bike and want to change out the rear turn signals for an LED brake/turn signal thin bar like the one attached to this post.

Question

Can I change out my stock turn signals for LED's without making any other upgrades to electrical or battery?

You will need a load equilizer. The system will think your bulbs are out due to less power going to LED. It will still work, but your bike will give u and error code thay might bug you if you are OCD.

With a 2016 you should not require an equalizer. It wasn't required on my 2014. I have the HD daymaker, custom dynamics in the front and rear turns and an led license lamp.

^^^This.^^^ I have the exact same combination on a 2016. No equalizer needed.

It'll work. We also put a set of LEDs on my wife's '16 Iron, no load equalizer needed.

You won't need one. The turn signal indicator on the dash will blink a little faster.

If you need a load equalizer, consider Custom Dynamics's electronic type instead of using cheaper resistor-types. about $70 but plug-and-play and doesn't just turn the current into wasted heat (the resistors get very hot....). Plus you only need the one unit, not potentially four resistors wired in all over the place.

You may also need to let your electronics know that they are LED's. When I changed my rear light bar to LED I got an error code. With the ignition in run, not running, turn on your emergency flashers. Leave them on a few minutes. Then turn everything off, turn it back on and the system will now recognize the LED's with out any errors. It worked for me.
