I like these bags by B&B Reproductions, but it might be the cold medicine and I could be having a fling with a bad idea .
Things I like about these bags, they mount high enough to miss my exhaust system and probably won't drag before something else does, you can remove the rear wheel without removing the bags, they're a USA made exact reproduction of the Harley-Davidson Royalite bags available plain without the reflector, are a total bolt on as B&B makes Dyna brackets, and best of all they're about $650 with the brackets.
So... What do you think, cool, or am I high on Sudafed?
I think they're a good choice with the right style bike. Switchbacks done up retro or dyna's with FL front ends.
I don't care for those bags on FL softails, to me they sit too high as far as the examples on the BB repop site.
For narrow and mid glides I like leather throw overs or repop XT style bags.
I tried to pull off the BB repops when I had a mid glide front on my bike, always seemed a bit unbalanced to my eye.
Oh and pulling the bags off to remove the rear wheel is my preferred method. I've done it both ways. The bags come right off by pulling 4 clevis pins.
There are a few guys over here (https://www.hdforums.com/forum/group...p-page277.html) running these bags, fskitch included. They seem to be very happy with them, which would lead me to believe they are a good quality product that serves its purpose.
Thanks to all that replied, I have looked at most the alternatives in roughly this size bag. The B&B bags are something I keep coming back to as the function/form factor works in my case, and the bags are in proportion to the motorcycle, I think the profile of the bags will be a good look if I pass on the reflector/embellishments (as that look seems to be tied to a certain period in time) and just order them plain. I dont think I will find anything I will like better.
