Anyone install Baker Compesator Sprocket on there Dyna?
I have that annoying starting issue with the kick back and cough when the engine is hot. From all the reading I have done and after talking to the guy that dyno'd my bike with the install of the power commander, it seems that the most likely culprit is the sub par compesator HD decided not to upgrade when they went from the 88" to the 96" and waited until the 110" models. So I am looking at going with the Baker Compensator Sprocket and the Aditude Adjuster. Has anyone installed the Baker Compensator Sprocket? If so, what do you think of the results? How did the install go (if you did it). What all was required parts wise from Baker in addition to the sprocket kit for the install?
Yup..., and the chain adjuster
Do it again in a heartbeat
What would you like to know
eta - probably be a good idea to answer the questions already asked - duh
Has anyone installed the Baker Compensator Sprocket?
Yes
If so, what do you think of the results?
Love it
How did the install go (if you did it).
Took 8 beers iirc
Need an impact wrench (big un).., or long *** breaker bar (compensator bolt is on tight as **** - and needs to go back on the same )
Need to remember the nut on the clutch is CCW
Need a chain block (chunk of wood also works well)
Need a torque wrench capable of 150 Lbs
Need a new primary gasket and oil
Need a drip pan and several rags (no matter if you drain the primary for days - more oil is going to run out and over the bike / jack.., once the primary cover removed)
Oh.., and need a jack so you're not standing on your head (unless you like to do so)
Need beer
Good music doesn't hurt either
Need a service manual for the torque settings
Need to ensure the chain is in aliment specs after installing the new compensator - mine was with no issues
What all was required parts wise from Baker in addition to the sprocket kit for the install?
Yup - compensator wise
Pretty simple install - getting to it is the bitch
Tensioner wise - super easy to put on and adjust
The thing that sold me on the adjuster was the bigger pad compared to the competition
One final note:
There be more **** coming off - than will be going back on (spacers..., washers wise)

But yeah - the beer was cold..., and tasting extra good that day - I was in no hurry
It like going for a ride just for fun - I keep speeding up..., only then to start thinking = damn it..., faster I go the sooner its over - so I slow back down
Then repeat it all over
