For anybody thats been going back and forth between picking up a LED tail from Tommy or buying the junk from China off eBay, I took upon myself to buy both and compare since everybody loves to say they are the same.
We've all seen the Moons set up videos but nobody could answer the question how the unit compared to the cheap eBay knockoff. After receiving both, I'm not even gonna take the time to hook up this knockoff junk. Im not sure what Moons does as far as ordering, assembling, packaging their product and truthfully, I don't care. Its clear they are doing something to send their customers a better product. This knockoff hunk of junk is going back to the seller in a flash.
Er...thanks for nothing? Seriously, why not spend the extra 20 minutes and really give this thread some meat? You have the parts. Help others make a truly informed decision. All I can tell from your pic is one has a darker tint than the other. That's not inherently good or bad.

My comparison of some LED tail/turns...

Thats great, but the question on the recent thread was the quality of the unit itself vs moons and whether anybody had even seen them side by side. As there was a plethora of users saying "they are exactly they same, you're paying extra for nothing" I felt like paying some extra money for something i can return to settle the dispute. When everybody has seen the moons in action why mount up another that is clearly junk out of the box? More of a waste of time. When I was trying to convey don't even bother with the knockoff. Spend the extra $$$ and support MoonsMC.
Thanks for the info, but neither of you guys say which is which. Thant would be really helpful. Let me guess, black one is moons?
Also doesn't state WHY he says it is a hunk of junk. Are the electrical connections sub par? Maybe worse solder joints? Maybe the lens is attached poorly? No clue.
Honestly at this point he could just be a moons employee that is just trying to sell their product.

You really think sales are that low he would plant a troll into the boards? Or think folks would trust someone with less than 100 posts? Think about that. Its clear in the photo that 1 is junk and the other is not.

it's not clear at all which is bad. we have no information to go off of. there's just A, 1, single... not plural... picture of two lights sitting next to each other.
using that same method, we can clearly tell from the picture below that this woman likes pomegranate flavor lemonade:
