Been having trouble starting my bike. I'm thinking the battery but it's only 2 years old. I keep it on a tender when it's parked. The other day I was messing around with my tuner and had the bike in the on position but not running for a few minutes it would not start after I was done with the tuner. Bike has all leds and no extra lights or anything. You guys think it's just time for a new battery?
These HD/Deka batteries are really hit and miss; my last Deka only lasted 15 months, and it was always kept on a Battery Tender. I've moved on to the Yuasa GYZ20HL; I've never had any sort of battery problems with my sport bikes running Yuasa batteries. This Yuasa along with Terry Components 4 gauge battery cables spin up my Wide Glide quicker than I've ever heard; the OEM battery cables are 6 gauge.
The Deka battery is 310 CCA and 17.5 Ah, the Yuasa is 320 CCA and 20 Ah and based on my experiences with Yuasa in my other bikes I've got high hopes this battery will last.
Got to agree with all here batteries are hit and miss, my new Fatbob battery died after 13, it was a bit my fault because I never hooked it to a tender everytime, now with new battery and hooked up to tender it is ok, but I always expect the battery to die at some time, this is battery lotterie, it,s why I now carry a Small Antigravity XP-1 booster in my saddlebag, for the JUST IN CASE TIME.
Was going to order the Yuasa today, but on my way to work i stopped for gas and it barely started back up. so im now gonna pick up a Duracell from batteries plus today at lunch. it will have to do for now, since i dont think it will start again after it sits all day with out the tender. the duracell has a 24 month warranty and it has good reviews, so it cant be too bad of a battery..
you could have the battery load tested before buying a new one, also maybe a check of the charging system. and as others said make sure all connections on both ends of the battery cables are clean and tight

I did check all the connections and they are clean and tight. At lunch I went out and it started fine, wasn't as weak as it sounded this morning, so I ran over to autozone and had them test it and it tested good. So I'm not really sure where to look from here. How long can you guys leave your bike in the on position? Mine was on just a couple of minutes and it wouldn't start.
Did you change the batteries in the Key fobs, I change mine every year because when they start going dud, it gives starting problems, they are only CR2032,s get some good quality Duracell ones.
