That's why I figured they had no reason to b.s. me
because I was a noobie & didn't have a clue about anything.
You will never ever see 130 mph.

man something wrong with your bikes i can hit 115 easy on my sb on the interstate. but im laying down on tank when i do it. ive just got stage 1 download and screamin eagle slipons and mass air intake ill make a video if i can find a way to mount my video camera.
Thanks all for your comments.
Iâm really impressed with the torque in all the gears; even 6th will snap my head back.
Iâve been taken it kind of easy during my break in period trying not to go over 75-80.
Itâs so fast and easy to get up to those high speeds I have to watch myself at times.
Canât wait to get on a smooth highway and open her up a little more if I feel safe enough.
The SB has all the performance I was hoping for when I bought it and then some.
Unless Iâm going 70 the 6th gear is never used, and at 40 mpg Iâm happy.

I would think that on a dyno a stock SB has enough gear tomechanically (mathematically) hit 130-140mph range. Especially if members here are hitting 115mph on the road.
However what a dyno lacks is wind resistance. Wind resistance increases exponentially with speed. Meaning that if a naked bike with 50hp can do 100mph on the level you can't therefore conclude that it will do 200mph with 100hp. To crack 200mph it will need something greater then 200hp to accomplish that on the same naked bike.
I do 100+ mph for sometime now. I have been working on getting the windshield to do better.
I raise the tank 2"
I kick the bottom of the windshield out 1"
Put a bag full of stuff in windshield to block air flow
Couple angle wings would help
I can do 100+ in 4th gear. I can do 120+ in 5th gear but air trubin give me blurred seeing. And with out seeing in 6th gear I tell the bike is going faster than what is on the the bike numbering speed.

40mpg must be nice I haven't got above 33mpg, I need to get it dyno tuned.
Down in Florida, where I was negotiating a lot of city traffic, I would average 35-38mpg. Actually got better with the big bore kit. My best tank was 44mpg. Up here in the country where I can go an hour or more without changing speed and riding with a neighbor who's not as frisky with the throttle, I was shocked to see 56mpg! Not as fun as running the **** out of it though!
Have an 06 Street Bob, 95", screaming eagle heads, Thunderheaders, race turner, cams, still gettin use to the new shift range, took it up to 90mph in 5th. I find myself cruising in 5th at around 75mph with lots of HP still available
I haven't been able to get mine past 110, and as long as your pointed straight ahead it's smooth as silk.It doesn't like going around corners at anything much over 65 and starts to weave.
The OL's 88 inch Lowrider is good for 110 - 115 mph, depending on conditions. The engine is smooth as snake snot above 2K RPM.
To 'square away' another question in this thread, drag increases as the square of speed. So, if you want to double your speed, you will need 4X the horsepower.
