Default Thunderheader modi

I have a 2014 switchback with a thunder header slip on. I still have the factory headpipe with cat intact. I like the sound of the thunderheader but I want it louder. local shop tells me they have decatted header pipes but it doesn't make it much louder.ANY SUGGESTIONS??

I'd be curious to hear what those riding behind you think of the volume. With a pipe that long, a lot of the sound isn't making to you, the rider.

What's your goal?

I have had no complaints about it being too loud as i always ride in the front of our pack. I want to make it a little louder without losing the thunderheader sound.

Will a proper Thunderheader system fit a Switchback? If so, that seems the most sure fire way to win.

I agree a full system will be your best bet for both sound and performance. I didn't think th made a slip on pipe. Another member previously posted that it's a long pipe and a lot of sound isn't masking it to you and I couldn't agree more. I have a fat cat and it's loud as **** to me but it's also not the shortest exhaust in the world. people don't like ridin behind me if that tells you anything.

Then I would leave it alone if it were mine.

Yup, not much you can do then. Only significant diference would be a full pipe or more motor

De-catting seems like a no lose situation, except for the effort and maybe your wallet slightly.

Your volume may increase, but if not, at least your Cat is gone.

If the volume increases, then it's a win-win

I've never played with a bike with emissions systems, but I know on a car the cat does reduce volume and mellow the tone. It's a noticeable difference.
