American Iron just did an article in issue 354 of a cooling fan made by a guy in Florida, it takes around 20 minutes to install and it is hidden, here is a link to purchase.https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...dmd=1&_ipg=200

After lurking and finally jumping into this thread, decided to get an oil temperature gauge to get an idea what my oil temperature might be.

Curious though, if oil temperature is measured at the Oil Pan, how do we account for the oil temperature as it travels through the cylinder heads?

Seems like a contradiction. If oil breaks down at 300 degree temperature, how is Oil Pan temperature relevant at all...if the damage to the oil is happening as it travels through the very hot cylinder heads?

Air cooled bikes will run hot. Seems like using synthetic oil and changing it more frequently would cover any concerns regarding wear/damage to the engine due to heat?

Agree. Modern technology. I only use syn in all vehicles. Even my Honda 1 kw generator. Happy to 400+ degrees.

I realize third party accessory makers have to eat, don't mean to rain on their parade.

But..Mobile 1 can withstand 500 degree heat. So what's the problem? Ż\_(ツ)_/Ż

Mobil 1™ V-Twin motorcycle oil

EDIT: Updated the URL to their V-Twin oil page.
