You will need to move your plate and signals first, and the GBG kit is way better looking than the HD version. Then add the HD detachable hardware kit, which will allow you to add detachable sissy bar. Then all you need is passenger pegs and a seat to accommodate a passenger.
your right he should disregard what I said! He has already bought a bike for him and it's a great one up bike, you can buy a corvette for the family but it's not going to work as well as a minivan
Look op I'm not trying to be a bad guy here, ether you really wanted the low rider s and it was more about you then you and the wife and i don't blame you if that is the case, or the salesperson didn't care one bit about what was best for you and just went along to make the sale! After all he has nothing to lose by selling some one the bike he will make $$$ no matter what. But you might put a lot of $$$ into this bike now to make it work for you and yes it will do the job but you are making it really hard to sale the bike if you want to down the road. Not a lot of people want a lowrider s set up that way. That's all I was saying

The OP stated occasionally his wife would like to join him. The FXDLS will be fine for those occasions.
Are you kidding me? The bike will sell just fine if the OP decides to do so.
A set of passenger pegs, detachable hardware, a detachable sissy bar, and a 2 up seat can be removed in under an hour. The bike could be back to stock in that time. Alot of money? $70 detachable hardware, $100 for pass pegs, $150 detachable sissy bar, and $3-400 for a seat if not less.
I have recently done all of the above. Several of these mods I would have done whether I had planned to carry a passenger or not.
You bought a bike for one person and know you are having trouble making it into something it's not?
Oh come on. Everyone wants to make a bike their own. Also, I would put good money that most LRS owners add passenger equipment. I know I did and a crap ton of the LRS owners here in San Diego did as well.
Wish I would have read the rest of your half baked posts before I replied.
How exactly will adding all the completely removable equipment impact resale, how exactly can a LRS only be suitable for one person, but a regular LR is great for 2? You do know there are ZERO frame or rake/trail differences between the two, right?
As someone else posted, this is a very cheap (in comparison) modification and something A LOT of people do to this or any other solo HD!

I modified the great bike gear bracket so I could use an L.E.D. strip which is both a tail lamp and brake lamp , the turn signals are dual function as well . I don't have pics of the seat or detachable backrest in use , those are only on it occasionally.
Read the initial post ! 95% of the time it will be a solo rider. Thanks for your helpfull input ********.
any time, I may be a richard cranium but you will always be a moron lol you're the one that picked a bike that was purposely made to be a one up bike and got on here and asked why it's hard to **** that up
