Default Rear Signal Issues

Just picked up a brand new FXDL a few weeks back, and of course I'm swapping parts out left and right. Put a Le Pera on it, some burly slammer shocks. However I started having issues with one of the turn signals, and now both even after replacing the bulbs. I'm getting the illuminated security lamp and "Lo Range" warning with full gas, I know those come up when there are lighting issues. I thought maybe it was a pinched wire or two, but the lights work; the two flashes from all lights after I turn the bike off still work, and sometimes if I turn the hazards on, the rear signals will flash once and then no more. I'd like to avoid taking it to the dealership, but that's a last resort; anyone have any ideas?

Are you sure you didn't pinch a wire when you did the shocks?

Tsheff that's what I thought but wouldn't a pinched wire give more consistent symptoms? Like always on or never on? I find it odd that the signals will ALWAYS flash when the bike turns off, and the one time flash when the hazards are turned on.

REAR SIGNALS??? What about the front??
Flashes once for hazard?? I can't diagnose electrical without putting a meter in it and testing circuits and relays. ?? Short causing the failure or cancel after the first pulse??
Reach under the fender and verify that any wiring near the top shock bolt was not damaged, then remove your new seat and verify you didn't pinch or disturb anything there.
Did you change bars or switch housings?

No bars or housing changes yet. I reached around the back towards the tire and the wire seems undisturbed there; I'll put it up on a jack later today to really get up in behind the shocks and see if anything happened there. Removed the seat and found nothing there either.

The shocks wouldn't have anything to do with a turn signal issue as they are totally outside of any wiring. If I were to guess it's the new seat. When you installed the new seat did you push down on it to get it to fit under the forward mount? You may have displaced or separated the connector(s) for the turn signals which are directly under the seat.

Only questioned because one of my older Dyna's the signal wires were inside the fender with a clamp to the shock bolt, then through the back of the strut.

Yeah, I checked but it was more of a brief once over; I'll look at each connection a little closer today.

Just an idea. Can you unplug the rear harness that goes to the rear turn signals, tail light, and brake light? If yes, then by using a test light at the forward half of the connector, try checking the turn signals. I think the bulb in the test light would take the place of the rear turn signal bulb, and the signals would flash in a normal fashion. Just trying to isolate/eliminate the rear wiring to see if that's where the problem is.

So I took off the seat and fiddled with the wires under there a little, moved them around and what not, and the hazards are now working like they should. When I hit the turn signal it'll flash once and then stop. So it's definitely a wiring issue, still can't get it to work and the Lo RNG and security lights are still on.
