Yes,, they are made to preform in certain ways when it comes to the need of the rider and how they they ride.
Appearance and looks can sometimes be different then performance,, that's why I'm asking if your racing.
I can tell ya right now turning a tire backwards of it's designated rotation is a plain dumb move. For some reason the myth exists that tire manufacturers don't really know how to use the tires they make the best,, and changing the way they use tires is better.

What are you really trying to accomplish? Really?

You want to impress the little girls at the bar? Do you want other riders to see how good your bike looks with different tires?
Or are you interested in the best way your motorcycle preforms while riding?
Mostly to impress the 18 year old blondes with the fake IDs at the bar, yeah.

This jives exactly with what I've been reading. Modern front tires have a more triangular cross section. I'm not really considering a rear for front fitment, but I mentioned it in an.effprt to be thorough and open-minded.

The only stupid question is the one not asked.

Truth be told, my preference is actually long black hair. Also, I really don't care if they like my bike or not...because if'n they don't...I tell 'em about my Miata. If that doesn't get'em hooked, I just get'em drunker.

From memory the OEM fatbob tyres are the same tread pattern front and rear which could spoeak to why they suck so bad.
