Default Source for wide front tires?

Anybody know a source/brand for really wide front tires? 160+

How about running a rear up front? I've read of some guys running rears up front as long as they're turned backward.

I like my Cobra rear, but I'd be be willing to dump it to get a proper front/rear matched set.

Widest (in a set) that I'm aware of is Metzelers 200 rear 150 front.

EDIT: Avons do similar too.

Yeah. I haven't yet found a modern style front over 150. I don't really want to go vintage balloon style. An Avon Cobra 180/70R-16 would be perfect but I don't know about running a rear up front...

Wasn't it nice when we used to run the same tires front and rear?

This is a rear rim with a 180 on the front. And a 200 in the rear.

I'd run this configuration in aheart beat.

Dude,, are you racing now?
A tire is a tire.
Yes,, they are made to preform in certain ways when it comes to the need of the rider and how they they ride.
Appearance and looks can sometimes be different then performance,, that's why I'm asking if your racing.
I can tell ya right now turning a tire backwards of it's designated rotation is a plain dumb move. For some reason the myth exists that tire manufacturers don't really know how to use the tires they make the best,, and changing the way they use tires is better.

What are you really trying to accomplish? Really?

You want to impress the little girls at the bar? Do you want other riders to see how good your bike looks with different tires?
Or are you interested in the best way your motorcycle preforms while riding?

The only reason to run a rear tire backwards (on front) is so the tread grooves funnel water better when you're on the brakes in a puddle. I've run a rear 160 on the front. I didn't like it because it required too much effort to get the bike to lay over in a turn.

So,, if that same tire is on the rear,, doing the proper rotation,, braking in a puddle won't funnel the water?
A Rear in front funnels water different then a rear on the rear funneling water?
Can you provide documentation of the different funneling aspects for front and rear?

The rear groves clean out under acceleration. Not braking.
document
smocumet they're
over rated. Do you know how to put on mud tires? Don't be foolish

Rotation differs due to front doing most of the braking, while rear does all of the acceleration.

Different forces = opposite rotation.
