The 103 has auto compression releases from the factory, it would depend on whether your stock harness has the connectors for the sub harnesses that run to the ACR's. At a minimum you'd need the sub harnesses for the ACR's and also have the ECU reflashed to operate the ACR's, otherwise hot starts are gonna be a MF'r.
No problem with ACR's. If he doesn't have the connectors for the sub harness, just install some S&S EZ cams. Did that when i built my 96 to a 103. Worked like a champ!
Damn good idea! I hadn't thought of that. Which cams did you wind up going with?

I had mine on a Road Glide, so went with the EZ551's which are a torque cam pretty close to the HD 255.
I see where S&S has a EZ583 for mid-range which they advertise as follows:
"Optimized for use as a great over-all cam in the SoftailŽ/ DynaŽ lines, but can be used in any 2007-up big twin model.
Provides strong low end torque and horsepower that you can really feel.
Strongest from 1500-5000 in a Softail/Dyna application."
They also have a hp cam, the EZ585. Check 'em out if you go that route.
