My numbers showed when setting code but not when using it to turn off security system. I thought I was doing something wrong and kept starting over but finally just put all the numbers and it worked. Would have been nicer to see the numbers though. I need to enter a code on my Electaglide now that I know about it. I bought my WG new and just found out about the manual disconnect. Lucky I didn't need it.

Thanks for the advice guys, but I finally found a post with my same problem on Forums from 2014 from a Jody858, but not sure he ever got his ride fixed as he didn't mention it again. I have done almost exactly what he has done and have the same issues. Here is his post:

I probably sound like a broken record, but I searched and could not find any threads with my specific issue. My 2007 Street Bob will not start. Doesn't try to turn over, no clicking what so ever. When I turn on the ignition, I have head light, tail light, neutral light and oil light. I don't have an odometer readout at all, and the blinkers do not work. Here is all the TS I've done so far:

- Checked battery, nearly 12V with ignition on
- Battery in FOB, full 3V tested on volt meter
- Tested continuity of all fuses with volt meter and they all check out
- Ran direct power to starter for a second and it turns over
- checked for 12V coming in and going out of ignition
- checked starter switch for power, it's good
- replaced starter relay and system relay for good measure

A few details: I have led turn signals front and rear, and a badlands load equalizer wired in. It has all worked for months without issue. I relocated the ignition to the top of the tank like many others here, and it has worked for months without issue. When I pulled the tank dash to check the ignition, I double checked everything was plugged in.

The events leading up to this point involve me installing saddle bags. I had the bike on and off the lift for about a week with that project. I didn't have the FOB close to the bike the whole time, and I tripped the alarm a coupe of times.

My thoughts at this point: TSSM. I pulled the TSSM and visually inspected it. I can't see anything obviously wrong with it, but I have no idea how to test it. Could I have done something to the tip sensor? I had the jack under the bike several times. It seems unlikely this is the issue. I'm leaning towards the TSSM, but I'm not sure what else to check. With no odometer readout I can't check codes, or try to reset the TSSM. It's perplexing to have some electrical, but no odometer or blinkers specifically.

Any advice on what to check next is welcome. I don't have a Harley dealership in my town, but there are a few local shops that work on HD.

*EDIT*

I forgot to mention, I do hear the fuel pump kick on (pressurizing?) when the ignition is turned on and the switch is set to run. At least I think that's what I hear when I turn it on, right?

*EDIT 2*

I say TSSM, but I guess what I really have is the HFSM. My FOB doesn't have buttons. Once I walk away from the bike the alarm sets and the blinkers flash, at least it used to.

Well 12v seems awful low on battery I believe battery should be at least 12.8, it is a possibility your battery is toast, have you got a spare battery to try on your ride, when batteries start failing they do really weird things.

Ah ok sorry I should have read better, 12,75 I just picked up on something you say when you walk away from the ride the blinkers do not flash anymore, have you checked the fuse, and the bulbs, if one is not good this can throw an error code.

Yeah, I got the same notion last night and checked all of the fuses. My front flasherlights work fine when I turn on the headlights, and they run steady like running lights; however, they don't operate using either turn signal anymore. The rear ones don't operate as turn signals either, but don't operate as running lights and never did. When I get home tonight i'll recheck the fuses, just in case I missed one.

Good idea and check the bulbs, all you need is one faulty bulb and you will get error codes.

Yeah, after working on it all Saturday, I finally took it to the Harley shop on Sunday, and they found a short under the right rear fender where my right turn signal wire had shorted against the fender. Apparently, it knocked out the speedo and odometer and that was the reason I could not get the code numbers to show up on the odometer. It also blew a fuse they said, but i swear I checked them and didn't notice anything.

Anyway, I guess i was looking in the wrong area and should have started with the simple things first, like I have been always taught. Thanks Smogbob and everyone for your support and advice, as I'm now riding again!
