The relocation adapter and oil filter mount do have specific in and out fittings but it's all going to depend on how you've set up everything; if you're running both an engine thermostatic adapter for your oil cooler and the 3Guyz engine adapter stacked it's going to be two different systems depending on oil temperatures.

With the Jagg, as an example; when the thermostatic adapter is closed it bypasses the oil cooler and it begins to open right around 185° oil temperatures; before that the oil cooler is out of the oil flow, the oil is flowing through the thermostatic adapter, then relocation adapter, to the filter and back to the engine through the relocation adapter, in to the thermostatic adapter, and then back in to the engine.

Once the oil cooler thermostatic adapter opens it still flows to the filter first but then the oil returning from the filter is routed to the oil cooler core by the thermostatic adapter and then back in to the engine; through the thermostatic adapter, back in to the engine.

Due to my spacing issues I've removed the Jagg thermostatic adapter; the oil cooler core and the oil filter are now in series; oil flows out of the relocation adapter, hits the oil cooler core, up to the oil filter mount in fitting, and back to the engine through the relocation adapter; 3 oil lines instead of 4 now.

I have already noticed a 4 PSI reduction in oil pressure at cruising RPM's and a 2 PSI reduction at idle; the thermostatic adapter was a bit of a restriction to the oil flow. The only downside is on cooler days my warm up will be slower but beyond that I don't see any issues removing the thermostatic adapter.

If you watch the video from ultracool, the oil goes through the adapter into the oil filter then back through the adapter to the cooler then from the cooler to the adapter back into the engine. Adding the relocation kit just adds an additional adapter but still takes the place of the original filter. So the oil goes to the filter then cooler then back to the engine. Mchad, you got me curious about it, since I could not remember. So I looked at the video from ultracool again.

Thanks, question 2, would you happen to know the diameter of the down tubes on a 14 Fat Bob?

Thanks

I have no idea, but if I had to guess... I would say 1" 1/2. I would think that all dynas are the same. When I ordered my clamps, I went out and put calipers on my down tube to measure it.

Nice pics.... have you noticed the oil a wee bit cooler? I was thinking about a front mount cooler, then I saw this and I like the idea of easy oil changes.
