I was told that the risers on the 2015 low rider make it very difficult to put on different handlebars. I was wondering if anyone has any experience swapping the handlebars on the 15 model? I was wanting to keep the stock risers and just put new bars on. Probable 8" or 10" apes
you cant put apes on the stock risers. you have to remove the risers which include the headlight and brow. You will need a bottom mount headlight like what found on a street bob. you will also need new risers as well as the bars. I have a stock street bob riser if you are interested. You can get the aftermarket LED bottom mount headlight bucket from HD for 54 bucks and reuse your stock head lamp.
Actually you could put apes on the stock risers, but it would look really weird...
That's what I was thinking on both counts. In fact when I read the OPs thoughts about putting the apes on, I unintentionally had a look of total distain.
If you wanted to, you could buy a bottom mount headlight bucket and lose the entire top mount/adjustable riser deal that comes on the LR. Then you can install any standard bars/risers you want.
Edit: Forget it. I'm guilty of not reading the entire thread. Asked and answered already!
