Default 16 inch rear wheel dyna

I'm considering changing out my rear wheel from a 17 inch to a 16 inch rear wheel. I'm on A fxdc(09) and from what I can tell a wheel from a fxdf will do the job. If anybody has done this I would appreciate any help or advice.

I'm swapping to fxdf rear wheel. On my 15 street bob I'm told it bolts right up

You want to know specifically about the DF wheel or 16" in general?

I'm running a 16x5.5" spoked rim out back. The brake caliper is a pain because it only clears by an inch. Have to pull the whole wheel off to service it. I use a wooden dowel to keep the spacers and caliper bracket together while I slide the assembly into the swingarm. It's not too bad once you get used to it.

The wooden dowel is BRILLIANT, even without the 16 inch wheel. I can't tell you how many times I have stuffed the wheel into the swingarm only to have one of the spacers fall out leaving me with a 45 pound wheel setting on my nuts and no way to reach the drive side spacer
Chris I'm stealing your idea.

Also running a 16"x5" spoke wheel out back with a 180/65 on it. As Gorman said, to service any thing on the back wheel or brake setup, it all has to come out. Assembling the rear is an art form because you have to install the wheel, spacers and caliper all while trying to pivot the swing arm to get it all to slide together at once do to the lack of room/clearances.

I orderedthe 16x5 slotted black wheel today. Shows to fit the fxdf.
I also like the wooden dowel idea.
What I'm looking for are the tires the 16 inch rim offers. I must confess that I run on the dark side. Not looking for permission or appoval here.

You have pics pics of the 180 from a straight rear shot. I'm on the fence of a 180 or a 200

i know handling differences but just want to see visual differences

I don't have any pics on hand, but I will try and get one over the weekend and get it up. I run a full length fender so it might not be as an effective of a shot as it would be if I were running a chopped or standard length Dyna fender. I can tell you this, the 180/65-16 took some work to get it on (without the fender installed), I can't imagine trying to squeeze a 16" 200 in there.
