Default 3 GuyZ Filter Kit

My 3GuyZ filter relocation kit arrived today. Inspecting the contents, the workmanship is top notch. Anodizing is perfect. I will be using a re-usable oil filter. I now need to pick up some Amsoil 20-50 V-Twin oil and I need something to cut the oil lines. These oil lines are made to withstand 250 lbs of pressure. They are nothing like the typical rubber oil lines. I don't have the tool 3 GuyZ recommends to make the cut. I can't see buying the tool to only use it once. I temporarily installed it on the down tube just to see how much it will stick out. Doesn't look bad at all. Should cool down the oil quite a bit.

I'm wondering if someplace like NAPA or Autozone would cut the line for you, even though you didn't purchase it from them.

Save $$$ on some specialty tool, anyway and get a clean cut (hopefully).

$10 to make sure I got it right the first time wasn't a tough call. Plus I'm sure I'll need to cut hose again one day...

Amazon Amazon

I see you're in NY - if you're near Westchester you can borrow mine...

You may wish to re-think that; the Parker push-loc 350 PSI hose is indeed tough; use a proper hose cutter, I've used the crap out of this one. Don't just go after that hose with a knife.

Amazon Amazon

When you go to put the hose on the push-loc fittings put some oil on the fitting, and a drop of oil in the hose. Put the fitting on the floor or a solid surface; align the hose on the fitting, then in one quick motion, push the hose on and bottom it out on the fitting. If you stop midway, you're screwed.

The 3Guyz relocation is tier 1 kit, do it right

Now if you want to talk about spending money on a tool you'll only use once, you can pay $40 for one of these hose tools like I did...

A cheap cutter is 10 times better than a cutoff wheel. No offense to whoever said they used one.

I use a PVC pipe cutter for short runs of Push-Loc. Makes a nice square cut without frayed exposed braid or debris. A sharp, tight cable cutter would also work. The production cutting equipment is a pneumatic guillotine style but the blade is "V" shaped.

I use that same Ridgid tool. Nice flush cuts. I've also tried the cable cutter and don't get as nice of cuts.
