What do you expect kenny asking that in Dyna section...nobody is gonna tell you go buy a sportster.

I had a 48, loved it, fun to ride, looked great. Then got a Street Bob. And yes, I will never go back. I am riding this one even more. Go get the LR, you will not regret it.

I love my dyna. Its like a sportster with a lower center of gravity and a big twin. I really enjoyed my 1200 sportster when I had it(buell was the best though) but the dyna is just a bit more stable at highway speeds due to the weight.

You won't regret a dyna, it really is the best big twin harley builds. Softails really are for looks more than handling(or even comfort imho).

dyna will never handle like a sportster... anyone saying otherwise eats crack and snorts heroin.

low rider has no handling issues, someone is being a drama queen. the dyna is not really "bigger" than a sportster. side by side, they occupy the same space. the dyna is clumsy compared to the sportster's tight control.

most dynas sit lower than a sportster but, the POS iron and most of the current sportsters sit low for no reason other than looks and back pain. the low rider will have most folks flat footing at lights. you really notice the difference in town an in tight spaces.

the dyne destroys the sporty on the highway and long trips... sporty just can't hold a candle to the twins on highways and high speeds. the stability, the roll on..... dyna! it's just digs in and holds the road. quicker off the line, yes.... better power delivery at speed? sporty loses... hard. my undyno'd near 100hp(no proof but same configuration as this) sporty just does not hammer you like a dyna. for my sporty to get to 80+ hp i have to wind it up to 5500+ and that big twin torque is just not there on the sporty.

i love my dyna (now) but, love my sporty more... yet the truth is the truth.

get you some dyna... but shop around... don't just walk in to a dealer and let them run a train on your wallet.

I've always hated when people refer to Sportsters as "Entry Level" or "Lesser" Harleys, or when a move from a Sportster to a Big Twin is called an "Upgrade." I LOVE my Dyna. But I loved my last Sportster as well... They are very different bikes. I will have another Sportster at some point, but it doesn't fit into my "scenario" right now...

Even though neither is a sportbike, I've always found Sportsters to have a very natural nimbleness to them which I love. Also, when I hear the word "motorcycle," the first thing that pops into my mind before I can consciously think about it it the profile of a Sportster. I think they have perfect proportions...

But I really love my Dyna... IT does things that a Sportster cannot, and it's one of the most versatile platforms in motorcycling.

They're just different.

A lot of dealers are advertising $2k off all 2016s now. Local dealer has a Velocity Red Fat Bob for $13.9k currently.
