hope you also ordered the mounting clamp and the can that the tach fits into, because the tach doesn't come with these. I installed one on my '06 WG. wasn't too tough, but findinga tach signal was a bit of a challenge. instructions say, and many find it true, that the tach signal can be pulled off the ECM wiring harness, on the left side of the bike. i couldn't get a signal there, and ended up getting it off of the speedo.
Either way, it ain't too tough of a job to do. if you do get into problems, lots of help here on the forum.
Easy. Like gman said, the tach comes with the tach, wires, connectors, instructions and maybe a fuse. You'll also need the appropriate mounting bracket and a housing for the back side of the tach.
Wiring was simple on my 98 DWG. The instructions made it look worse than it was as they included the instrucions for multiple models. Just highlight the parts that pertain to your bike and you'll have no problem at all.
All you really need for tool pertaining to tach installation are a wire cutter, wire stripper and a crimping tool.
I guess I haven't actually tried mine yet so I shouldn't say it was easy. Might not even work. I'll find out in a few day when I get my engine back together.
