I recently installed 8" T bars and now I would like to higher them a little without having to buy the 10" version.
What is the easiest way of doing this seeing as the bars are just screwed in and not on risers?
What brand are your bars? Whoever makes them may also make riser extensions. Search their site for 2 inch riser extensions. Bung King makes some as well as LA Choppers. But I don't know how interchangeable they are between brands. I know my LA riser extensions I used on my old bars would not work on my Biltwell Risers if I wanted them to.

They are Santee 8" T Bars. Could not find any risers that would work.
Now I'm thinking longer bolts that go through the bushings into the bars and then add 2" chrome spacer between the bars and the clamp? Not sure if that would effect the stability of the bars though.

Not the same bars/risers on my bike but I'm running 3" riser extensions. With taller bars I'd suggest you consider replacing the riser bushings with either poly or solid bushings if you have not done so already. The difference in bar/riser stability is very noticeable; I use LA Choppers chrome solids and there is not any added vibrations in the bars/mirrors...
Edited to add: If you're buying your own longer riser bolts, use grade 8 bolts torqued to 40 ft-lbs...

I do already have the poly bushings in there so I will probably go with a 2" rise and the LA Choppers style in chrome, unless I find them local on my visits to the hardware stores.
The T bars were only $99 on sale at J&P and the taller 10" were $130 so adding the risers/extensions to the 8" and I'm still about the cost of the 10". A good deal either way for a very nice T bar.
