Wide glide dying while riding

Have a 14 fxdwg 20k miles and no upgrades as far as pipes or motor only cosmetic so far! Riding home from an all day ride and it shut off like key was turned off! Unplugged battery and waited and it started again but did same thing in like 2 miles. Codes are for short in gauge cluster and then some other one also! What does anyone think could be problem. Checked wires so far and all tight. Thanks for any help

Have you changed the batteries in your Fob,s and also your main battery could be toast, these are first 2 things to check, in reverse order.

Try checking the ground strap on the battery. Mine broke once so I only had intermittent contact (yes, even broken) for a half hour or so then it completely separated and died. Damnedest thing I ever saw. It was broken under the insulation at the battery terminal connector so I couldn't see the break.

Brand new battery and also batteries in fobs! I am gonna try peeling the coating now on the connectors! And warranty ran out 6 months when I I was chasing oil usage down lol.

My sons Honda Shadow did the same thing with a toasted stator. Battery was new and fully charged, but clearly was not recharging.
