I just completed the 30/70 pulley swap on my 14 Wideglide. Based on what I read here, I knew the tranny pulley was going to put up a fight. I had ordered a special pulley nut tool from eBay. Once I got in that far, the nut didnt budge with my HarborFreight impact. Proceeded to try the 1/2" breaker, and broke that off in the socket. Ran down to HF, got the 3/4 breaker with adapter sockets. Jammed a socket between the pulley teeth and swingarm pivot. Pulley nut gave up quietly.
It did. Need to put it on the upper side obviously. Also moved it inboard as much as I could. My belt rides to the outside and didnt want to mar the pulley surface. I looked at it when I was done and it didnt leave a mark.
Where can you find a 68 tooth pulley for a 2013 Dyna ? My local dealer can not get one. I want to do a 30/68 tooth pulley set-up, but can't seem to find a 68 tooth rear pulley. Please post if you know where to get one, Thanks, Bruce Hunt.
Both my 2013 and 2016 Dyna Manuals indicate RH threads ...
and... if you consider the rotation of the engine, being when looking at the primary side of the bike, rotation is counterclockwise, RH thread is what you want... .rotation is always trying to tighten the nut.
.... unless you're the cam gear on the crank... then you're still RH thread...
That's a good trick. Theres a thousand ways to skin a cat, especially when dealing with this nut. When I did my chain drive conversion it kicked my *** for the better part of an afternoon. I ended up bringing a 600ft/lb cordless impact home from work and it zipped it right off.

I used a Sportster pulley and a spacer on mine. There's other options though. Lots of info in this thread if you haven't read it already.
