Thanks again everyone, all of you have been a big help. I plan on changing the mount this Saturday.

lol, do it at the same time as an oil change. That video makes it seem a lot harder than it is. If you have the oil filter out of the way it's not that hard at all.

can someone let me know what the benefits to getting one of these would be? I know the stock mounts crap out pretty quickly so I'm not sure if I should just wait until mine does or if there are other benefits to doing it now

thanks

I like it for the stabilizer link. did not really notice difference in vibration, however vibration was never an issue to me.

I was going to say the same thing. The video makes it seem like it's a lot bigger deal than it is. I put off installing mine for a month to get some help and it ended up being something I could have easily done myself. It was certainly easier than the ordeal I went through to get one of those rusted %^!#! baffles out of the exhaust.

Can you install these mounts with the bike on its jiffy stand and the weight of the engine on a small jack? I dont have a lift yet but was thinking of getting one of these whilst the exchange rate is in our favour.

I have a 3 Guyz filter relocation kit on my Dyna. The normal location of the filter now has a small cone shaped adapter, haven't tried to access the mounting bolts with a torque wrench yet. I'll find out whether or not I'll need a torque wrench adapter when I change out the mount.

You'd want the bike upright to do the job. A quick and dirty way to get it done would be to have someone you can trust sit on the bike and hold it upright and steady for a few minutes. From there you can use a scissor jack and a block of wood against the engine case to support the engine so you can remove the old front mount and install the new Predator. It doesn't take that much upward force to support the engine, you just need it to be steady during that time the mount is out.

While not my preferred method, you could get it done.

And yea, the video makes it look harder than it really is...

You'll find that 3Guyz engine adapter will be in the way for the right side engine bolt. I had my oil filter relocation out changing oil lines when I did the Predator install but with the adapter in place it will make the right side engine bolt tougher to access...

Once the bike is properly positioned, this job only takes about a half hour. I't really very easy. I found the best way was to have the bike fully upright using whatever form of lift/jack/friends you may have, and then position a small scissor jack (possibly from your trunk) under the front of the engine to take weight off the mount itself. After some trial and error, I also found it was best to leave ALL of the bolts a little bit loose, then start the engine. Blip the throttle a little, and then tighten and torque everything with the bike idling. This helps prevent locking the engine into a slightly misaligned position... At least that was my impression...
