So from what I'm hearing so far, power isn't an issue (at least, not in a bad way), but opinions are split as to how big an problem the heat issue is.
Anyone tried a fan-assisted oil cooler yet?
well no, not necessarily. I won't deny the fact that the heat is a big problem, however I thought it was still bad as a 110 and I feel it should still be addressed either way. But it is my opinion that the heat is manageable so it isn't a problem. I believe with a good dyno tune and a set of cooling fans (I hate the way they look so I will be attempting to make it manageable without them) the operating temp will be within the preferred limits of any rider.
I am am currently waiting to get a replacement jagg fan assisted oil cooler but the company is being a pain in the ***. I had problems with the first one they sent me and since everyone speaks so highly of them I've decided to try again. I think the oil cooler, a good dyno tune, the tank lift, and venting my ac to atmosphere will bring my temps down enough for my comfort. My point is the heat is only an issue if you don't do anything about it. Any Air cooled Harley is vulnerable overheating in stop and go traffic. My girls 1200 sporty even does. My only problem is stopping for multiple lights in a row on a 95 degree day. Otherwise I'm running about 240-260 degrees engine temp. I'm hoping to bring that down to about 220-230.
