I read a lot of threads about seat choice, etc., and i can't help but think "What's wrong with me? I like the seat it came with!!"
I have the stock solo seat with the matching passenger pillion. I originally thought about just adding the pillion when the finacee wanted to ride and going back to just the solo the rest of the time. But, once i installed the pillion, i felt that it locked me in place and i didn't have the constant feeling of flying off the back, so i stuck with it!
I live in Northern Jersey, and rode all the way to DC and back in 2 days (650 miles when all was said and done) and had no pain. I may be packing some extra padding in the beer belly dept, but i'm cursed with a flat *** (i know too much info!!) so i can't attribute my liking to natural padding!
I actually like too. Looks good and is comfortable enough for me. Don't have the passenger pillion but at close to 2 bills I don't feel like I'm going anywhere in the solo seat.
have ridden 650 plus miles in a day and the stock seat is fine for me. but now i have to get a two up seat to get a ticket signed off. want something small and minimal so it doesn't look to bulky/ugly.
Still using mine and no complaints here. I just take my wallet out of my back pocket so as not to leave a mark. Have the pillion with quick detach , so I can go solo in about 2 minutes.
I agreed. I have an 06SB-withthe pass.pillon -never take it off-same with the tall detachable sissy bar-I just like how it looks
also rode from jersey to DC and back 680milesfor thetwo days-it feft fine-could have rode another couple of hours-wife complains after an an hour or so but than she always does-Mind you ,my old is a27year old ironhead ,so anything would feel better
i recovered mine w/ a goatskin (from tandy leather).
i hate the pillion though and the girl don't like it much either (i have another one with the pillion permenantly attached). cushy enough but she's kinda narrow and after a 1/2hour or so she says it hurst her hips. i think cause it's too wide
There is only one person who has to determine what you like...crazy has nothing to do with it.
I had to change my stock seat on mine b/c there was a pressure point on that thing that would put my left leg to sleep. I don't think I had a problem otherwise with the comfort. I now have a mustang solo and I can't say there is a huge difference, but my leg stays awake.
I like my stock seat also rode over 500 molrs in one day and did not have any problems but I did have to stop about every 75 to 85 miles to walk around a bit. just resting my arms from the wind pull
