Thinking about buying one. However, they seem to be unpopular. I can get a great deal on a 2015. Fuel processor, V&H Twin Slash slipon, mint condition with 2400 miles. I can get it for under $10,000! KBB says it's worth $14,210. Seems like a steal to me, but what's the problem with Switchbacks? Would YOU buy one?
I came very very close to buying a used 2014 when I bought my SG in 2015. The front fender and wheels finally turned me off first. Great concept but IMHO just needs a little more refinement and the bags are really small.
If you want a light tourer it's a fine choice. The ability to easily strip the extras off for sport/barhopping duty is a bonus. It's a swiss army knife. Jack of all trades, master of none.
Would I buy one? Hell no. But I'm not the target demographic so that means exactly dick. I wouldn't buy a touring bike either. I've got a two seat convertible for touring duty.
I probably would. I just hate the front fender. The wheels I actually like and wouldn't mind having them on my street bob. I like the idea of it being able to do a little of every type of riding. Cggorman's description of it being a Swiss Army knife is spot on. For the price, i'd buy it.
I think they look ok stock, but there's been a few on here that have been modded to look like an old FLH. Great platform to work with if you like that look.
Not to much of a stretch to go from a Switchback to the photo below.

My friend had a road King, wanted to downsize. Bought a switchback. Didn't handle as well as the superglide, bags too small. He ended up trading for a street glide special. He would have been happier with a heritage or superglide, soft bags not withstanding. He would tell you no as a commuter to work or touring. If was a dyna with sporty sized bags. Now, if it fits your goat, then get it. Just the number of riders that it answers the question for is very limited. Nice looking, just too limited for most.
Never liked em. Sure its a deal, because of alot of others dont too. They just dont make sense as a dyna to ME. They look off. Personally Id just get a bagger. The Switchback is not why I bought a dyna.
