I have a 2016 and cannot figure out how the bar would attach and I can't find any clear pictures or instructions. Can someone help me out with a good photo?
If you look at the part on HD's website, there are installation instructions you can look at under "more info"
It's a shame you're not in NY. I have a black lindbar for sale at half the price, which has a much better mounting system then the silly U brackets the HD version uses.
Not the Harley brand picked this one up eBay for $120. Seems to be OK for the money it is on a 2014 FXDL. one bolt at top goes through the horn bracket and the bottom mounts where the forward controls would mount.

That's pretty much how the Lindby bar looks and mounts. Nice find at a buck twenty.
Only problem with crash bars is if you go over far enough for the bars to hit grd you are going dn for sure. Good luck.
I have layed my bike over further and road rashed the bottom exhaust but still brought it back up without dropping it. My bottom exhaust is 2 inches above the frame.

I've actually scraped the HD engine guard several times without losing traction. The peg has to be very worn before the bar will make contact, though. I've got a Linbar now, haven't touched ground with that yet.
